Building Economic Power Together
La Fresca is a community-led initiative in Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea, three neighborhoods built by generations of hardworking families and local entrepreneurs. We exist to make sure the value our community creates stays rooted here.
Our work stands on three things: local economic power that helps more money circulate in the community, preventing displacement so the families who built GES get to stay in it, and fresh food access as a health issue.
Practical Support for Local Entrepreneurs
Local entrepreneurs create jobs, share their skills, and build relationships that strengthen GES. La Fresca helps businesses of every kind connect with support and with one another.
We promote businesses through La Fresca’s website and social media, share funding opportunities, and connect owners with organizations and city departments that offer help with taxes, permits, and licensing.
Local is Better
Six reasons we believe in building the neighborhood from within, together.
Builds Local Wealth
Spending locally supports neighborhood businesses, employees, and suppliers. Those relationships help more of the value created in GES remain in the community.
Supports Real People
Behind every storefront is a family. Your purchase becomes a child's school clothes, a grandmother's medicine, the next opportunity.
Generating Local Jobs
Local businesses create opportunities for neighbors to work, learn, and build lasting connections in the community.
